Man charged with armed robbery in Naperville

A man has been accused of robbing a person at gunpoint in Naperville.

Timmothy Hadley, 18, of the 800 block of Back Bay Court, Minooka, is charged with armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon — no FOID, both felonies. He is also charged with misdemeanor aggravated assault.

On Thursday, a DuPage County judge granted a prosecutor’s request that Hadley be kept in jail while awaiting trial.

According to a DuPage County state’s attorney’s news release, around 9:12 p.m. Nov. 24, 2025, a Honda Pilot was followed by a Nissan Sentra and a gray Kia through downtown Naperville. The Nissan pulled in front of the Honda, and the Kia pulled up behind at Sleigh and School streets.

A person wearing a hoodie and a balaclava pulled over their face, holding a handgun, got out of the Sentra, approached the Honda, and tried opening the driver’s door, according to the release. He then went to a back window and ordered a person to give him their cellphone.

Hadley then threw the phone to the ground and left.

The prosecutor’s petition requesting pretrial detention said that the occupants of the Pilot had an encounter with acquaintances of Hadley’s several hours earlier that evening.

Hadley was arrested Feb. 11. His next court date is March 9.
