Elgin’s St. Hugh of Lincoln Church offers Lenten blessing to commuters

Once again, St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Church in Elgin is offering “Drive Through Ashes” to commuters on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 18.

Drivers can line up between 4:30 and 6 p.m. in the church parking lot on the southeast corner of Highland Avenue and Randall Road in Elgin.

For several years, the Rev. Marion Phipps has taken this opportunity to offer ashes and a blessing to those who cannot begin their Lenten journey by attending a traditional Ash Wednesday service.

Ash Wednesday worship services at St. Hugh will be held in the church sanctuary and on Zoom at noon and 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Regular Sunday worship services are at 8 and 10:30 a.m. followed by fellowship and coffee hour at noon. Learn more and access Zoom links at www.sthugh.net.
