Police and FBI arrest alleged gunman in Grayslake shooting
The Grayslake Police Department announced Wednesday that it has arrested a suspect, with the FBI’s help, in the shooting of a man outside a Grayslake home on Jan. 30.
Elo Owolide, 28, of Evanston, has been charged with one count of aggravated battery by discharge of a firearm.
Officials say he shot a 31-year-old Chicago man in the hip and hand after engaging in an argument with him on the 500 block of Lincoln Avenue around 6 p.m. The man was taken to a hospital but has since been released.
According to the Grayslake Police Department and Grayslake Fire Protection District, the shooter had already left the scene when they arrived, but they found at least seven shell casings and a bicycle in front of the home.
Police detectives and the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force arrested Owolide Wednesday after a warrant was issued for him on Feb. 4.
