Angel Reese will join Unrivaled for remainder of season, reunite with Rose BC

Unrivaled is welcoming back one of its superstars for the league’s stretch run: Angel Reese.

The rebounding leader and defensive player of the year from Unrivaled’s inaugural season is returning to Rose BC for the remainder of the 2026 campaign. Reese had recently been at the Unrivaled facility, posting on Instagram about how much she missed the league.

While she will not be a part of the league’s 1-on-1 tournament, she will play the Rose’s final three games of the regular season, starting on Feb. 20. At 5-6, Rose is in fifth place in the Unrivaled standings and likely to qualify for the six-team postseason.

Now, Reese — who plays for the Chicago Sky in the WNBA — is back in the three-on-three game and rejoins the bulk of the Rose squad that won the Unrivaled title last year, including reigning finals MVP Chelsea Gray, former Chicago Sky player Kahleah Copper and Lexie Hull.

Unrivaled recently ruled out Aari McDonald for the remainder of the season, leaving one spot open in the player pool. The league announced a trade Monday that moved Azurá Stevens from the Rose to the Hive, and Reese now fills in for Stevens in the Rose’s frontcourt.

Reese has had a busy offseason since finishing her second WNBA season with the Sky. She walked the Victoria’s Secret runway in October. Her signature sneaker with Reebok is set to launch later this month, and she also collaborated with Paige Bueckers on a Reese’s and Oreo snack. Additionally, Reese will be part of Season 2 of “Hunting Wives” on Netflix and joined the production of the show in January. On the court, Reese participated in Team USA minicamp in December and attended the NBA Europe game in London.

Unrivaled had lost some star power from its first season as Napheesa Collier and Sabrina Ionescu sat out with injury. (Superstars like A’ja Wilson and Caitlin Clark have not participated in Unrivaled.) Collier and Ionescu have been around the league — Ionescu joined the broadcast for Unrivaled’s Philadelphia stop — and now Reese is back for the final month.
