Five arrested after armed robbery, pursuit ends in crash

Aurora Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place Thursday afternoon, which led to the arrests of five individuals.

Aurora police say they responded to the area of Howell Place and Fourth Avenue around 3:25 p.m. after receiving a report that a juvenile had been robbed by two masked offenders with a firearm.

Police say they chased the suspects, who had fled in a nearby SUV. The SUV crashed near East Galena Boulevard and North State Street. Two suspects attempted to flee on foot but were caught by police, along with three others.

Two adult males and one juvenile have been charged with multiple felonies. Two additional juveniles have been arrested but have not been charged at this time.
