Long Grove warms up with Cocoa Crawl Feb. 7
Winter gets a little sweeter in Historic Downtown Long Grove. On Saturday, Feb. 7, the village invites families, friends, and cocoa lovers of all ages to bundle up and stroll through one of Illinois’ most charming historic districts for the ninth annual Cocoa Crawl, from noon to 3 p.m.
Often considered the unofficial kickoff to Long Grove’s festival season, the Cocoa Crawl is a cozy, community-driven celebration that brings people outdoors during the heart of winter, offering a perfect blend of fresh air, warm drinks, local shopping and small-town charm. Guests can wander the village streets at their own pace, sipping complimentary hot cocoa at outdoor tasting tents, discovering new shops and enjoying the simple pleasure of slowing down together.
Throughout the afternoon, multiple outdoor cocoa tents will serve complimentary hot cocoa, each featuring a signature flavor, giving visitors the chance to sample a variety of creative takes on this winter classic. Guests can explore on foot or hop aboard complimentary horse-drawn carriage rides, adding a nostalgic touch as they glide past Long Grove’s colorful historic buildings and welcoming storefronts.
Inside the village’s independently owned boutiques and specialty shops, merchants will showcase cocoa-inspired treats, seasonal finds, and unique merchandise not found anywhere else. Local restaurants, breweries, and wineries will also lean into the theme with cocoa-inspired food and drink specials available throughout the day and into the evening. making it easy to turn a winter afternoon stroll into a full day of discovery and dining.
The Cocoa Crawl is designed to be both festive and easygoing, a chance to reconnect with neighbors, support local businesses, and enjoy the magic of Long Grove at a relaxed winter pace. Families are especially encouraged to attend, as the walkable village layout, warm beverages, and whimsical carriage rides make it an ideal outing for all ages.
As a “thank-you” for supporting local businesses, guests who spend $100 or more at participating locations on Feb. 7 can receive a free Cocoa Crawl mug from the Long Grove Visitors Center, while supplies last.
