Preferred route for Lake-Cook bike path topic of open house meeting

The preferred alternative to close a bike path gap along Lake-Cook Road will be available for public viewing and input from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 at West Ridge Center, 636 Ridge Road, Highland Park.

The meeting hosted by the Lake County Division of Transportation will be held in an open house format so visitors can attend anytime. Exhibits will be displayed and project team members will be on hand to discuss the plan and answer questions.

The project aims to connect the gap between the Skokie Valley Path and the North Branch Trail at Turnbull Woods Court. The connection would provide access to the Chicago Botanic Garden, Green Bay Road Trail, Robert McClory Path, Ravinia, Lake Michigan and the Metra station.
