Elgin’s Voices Unlimited Chorus seeks new singers for concert honoring America’s 250th birthday

The Voices Unlimited Concert Chorus is now open to accepting new voices for the spring concert, “America … Keep Singing” on Sunday, May 17.

The concert will be a tribute to the 250th anniversary of the writing and signing of the Declaration of Independence. The program will feature a live on-stage Thomas Jefferson and also a musical tribute to the U.S. Armed Forces. Along with additional patriotic and faith songs, it’s going to be a very touching and sensitive concert and we would like you to join us.

Do you have the talent to sing, but right now are what may be called a “choral orphan.” Just no place to showcase your talent?

If you fit that description, Voices Unlimited has a place for you. And the best part is you don’t have to read music, be a soloist or even audition. Yes, they have solo quality voices and members who read. But it’s not a requirement for membership. The three requirements are you want to sing, have fun doing it, and make new friends!

The weekly rehearsals are 6:45 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, starting Feb. 17, in the choir room at Journey of Hope United Methodist Church, on the northwest corner of Highland Avenue and Randall Road in Elgin.
