One treated for minor injuries in Carpentersville fire

One person sustained minor injuries following a house fire on Monday in Carpentersville.

The fire was reported around 6:30 p.m. at 207 Orleans Street, according to a press release from the Carpentersville Fire Department. Responding crews found fire showing from a second floor window and extinguished it in about 15 minutes.

All of the residents had exited the home by the time fire crews arrived, but one person was treated on scene for minor injuries. The fire was started accidentally, the press release said, and damage to the home was estimated at $100,000.
