Man sentenced to 20 years in Naperville home invasion

A Chicago man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a 2022 home invasion in Naperville.

Adam Stone, 28, was found guilty in May of 2025 on two felony counts of home invasion and was sentenced in DuPage County Court on Friday, Jan. 23. He had been in custody at the DuPage County Jail since his arrest.

On Aug. 6, 2022, the Naperville Police Department responded to a call of a residential break-in on Smokey Court shortly after 4 a.m. and found several men holding Stone down outside the residence, authorities said. Stone’s ex-girlfriend was inside.

According to a news release from the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office, Stone had gone to the residence to find her and broke a basement window, then entered the home.

Once inside, he fought with the occupants and was forced out, authorities said. About 15 minutes later, he threw a landscape brick through a front window of the residence and then threw several more at the windows of cars parked in the driveway, officials said.

At the time of his arrest, Stone was on probation out of Cook County after pleading guilty to aggravated domestic battery charges in April 2022.
