Founding principles ignored
In 2026, we will celebrate this country's 250th birthday, recognizing the Declaration of Independence — clearly one of our foundational documents.
It reads, in part, “ … That, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving its just powers from the consent of the governed …”
It seems to me that these words have been forgotten or ignored in several situations as applied to, for example, Greenland.
Then again, such foundational principles don't seem important to the current administration in Washington.
