Pingree Grove secures $600k state grant for skate park upgrade

The village of Pingree Grove was selected to receive a $600,000 Open Space Land Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant from the state of Illinois to upgrade its Skate Park.

The Skate Park improvements project will add new recreational features aimed at promoting community wellness, recreation, and improving quality of life for residents of all ages and abilities.

Planned amenities include a picnic shelter with built-in grills, a basketball court, three pickleball courts, an accessible zip track, Gaga Ball, bags/ladder ball areas, interactive ball wall, and a seasonal ice rink.

Gov. JB Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources awarded $36 million in OSLAD grants to 67 communities statewide this year. Since its creation in 1986, OSLAD has provided $640 million to support park development across Illinois.
