Disappointing end to a great Bears season
Thank you, Chicago Bear's owners, coaches, and players for an utterly fabulous year. It has been way too long since the Super Bowl Championship won in the ‘80s. It has been more downs than ups, especially in the last 10 to 15 years, but I for one have continued to watch the games and support the team.
The support of the fans at the Rams versus Bears game on Sunday, that unfortunately resulted in a close loss, was inspiring. I was so proud to be a Chicago Bears fan.
What makes up the fabric of fans of all our sports teams, especially the Chicago Cubs, show that we have some of the best supporters nationwide. The “Lovable Loser” Chicago Cubs kept us hoping for “next year” for 108 years. It finally happened in 2016, but the fans had kept on going to games, purchasing Cubs merchandise, and keeping true to the hope that next year was just around the corner for a winning season.
The Chicago Bears won twice against the Green Bay Packers this year. What an accomplishment. I, for one, am going to continue to be a Chicago sports fan whether we win or loose. That is what being a sports fan in Chicago is all about. Yes, we are all disappointed that the Bears lost a playoff game, but we have a lot to look forward to; a new head coach, new young quarterback and a new revitalized team.
The ride to this year's football playoffs was a terrific celebration a long time coming, but next year will be here in no time.
