Elgin’s 41st annual MLK prayer breakfast features speakers, music, awards
Elgin Community College hosted the annual 41st annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Prayer Breakfast on Saturday.
Mistress of ceremonies Lisa Jackson from Elgin Area School District U-46 emceed the event featuring speakers, music, and the Humanitarian Award, benefiting scholarships and community service, alongside other MLK Day events in Elgin.
“As You Lift Every Voice, Let Freedom Ring,” was the theme of the event this year organized by the Elgin Human Relations Commission.
