Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago foundation donates $35,000 to charities for kids, housing, and equity
The Kindness Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, made year-end grants totaling $35,000 to support children with cancer, provide affordable housing, and increase homeownership for communities of color.
The foundation grants are: $10,000 to the Sunshine Kids which supports children undergoing cancer treatment; $20,000 to Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity that works toward building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing; and $5,000 to the HomeServices Foundation for Housing Equity which is dedicated to increasing homeownership and building generational wealth for communities of color through targeted education, investment in individuals, financial assistance, and community reinvestment initiatives.

It’s an amazing organization that creates such positive experiences for children and teens during a very tough time in their lives. We proudly sponsor the Chicago Teen Get Away that occurs in the fall where teens from all over the country come visit and participate in fun activities all over the city and create bonds with other kids going through similar things.”
