Lawmaker collecting ‘Valentines for Seniors’
State Sen. Seth Lewis has kicked off a “Valentines for Seniors” card drive through his office in Carol Stream.
Students, church groups, scouting organizations and other groups are encouraged to create handmade Valentine’s cards and drawings for seniors living in assisted living centers, nursing homes and long-term care facilities across the 24th Senate District. The cards will be delivered during Valentine’s Day week.
“Our seniors have given so much to our communities, and this is a simple way to show them they are appreciated,” Lewis said in a statement.
Cards and drawings can be dropped off at or mailed to the lawmaker’s Carol Stream office, 962 W. Army Trail Road, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline is Feb. 6.
