Firefighter injured during early morning house fire in Hoffman Estates
A firefighter suffered minor injuries, but was released from the hospital after an early morning house fire Thursday in Hoffman Estates.
No civilians were injured in the fire that caused an estimated $500,000 in damage to a one-story, single-family house on the 1700 block of Ida Road.
The fire was reported at 3:28 a.m. Hoffman Estates police were first to the scene and advised the house was fully engulfed, but all residents had safely exited.
Flames were showing from the roof and had spread to a travel trailer parked in the driveway. Residents in homes on either side were also told to leave.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The house had working smoking detectors, but not a residential sprinkler system, officials said.
