DuPage County clerk to host vote-by-mail forum
DuPage County election authorities will hold a forum in Wheaton on the voting by mail process.
The county clerk’s office will host the event in the auditorium of the county administration building, 421 County Farm Road, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15.
“Voting by mail continues to be a safe, reliable and convenient form of voting,” County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek said in a statement. “My goal is to educate the public by explaining the process from start to finish, then answering questions voters may still have.”
The clerk’s office also will emphasize the importance of returning mail ballots promptly. The U.S. Postal Service recently released information that they cannot guarantee postmarking by the Election Day deadline, the clerk’s office noted.
In DuPage, nearly 100,000 voters have requested permanent mail-in ballots. The primary is March 17.
