Carol Stream police, feds investigate child sex exploitation case

Carol Stream Police on Tuesday assisted agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security with an investigation into child sexual exploitation, officials said.

A search warrant was executed around 6 a.m. on the 500 block of East Gundersen Drive, and a person of interest was taken into custody.

Though the investigation remains active, officials say there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

No further information was available Tuesday night.
