Young Democrats of Illinois to host primary debate for 8th Congressional District
As the 2026 midterm elections begin to heat up, the Young Democrats of Illinois, in partnership with “The Ishaan S. Show” and a broad coalition of Northwest Suburban Democratic organizations, will host the 2026 Illinois 8th Congressional District Democratic Primary Debate.
With Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi vacating the seat, this open race presents a critical opportunity for voters to help shape the future of Illinois’ 8th Congressional District, which serves Chicago’s Northwest and West suburbs and DuPage County.
This debate will give voters the chance to hear directly from Democratic candidates seeking to be the next member of Congress and learn where they stand on the issues that matter most to young voters and the Northwest suburbs.
The debate will be moderated by Ishaan Srivastava and co-hosted by the Young Democrats of Illinois, Cook County Young Democrats, Addison Young Democrats, Barrington Area Democrats, Elk Grove Township Democrats, Indivisible Elk Grove Township, Greater Palatine Area Democrats, Schaumburg Area Democrats, Wheeling Township Democrats, Maine Township Democrats, and Addison Township Democrats.
The event will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the National India Hub, 930 National Parkway in Schaumburg.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP at shorturl.at/12Bet. For those unable to attend in person, the debate will be livestreamed on “The Ishaan S. Show” YouTube channel.
The Young Democrats of Illinois remain committed to increasing civic engagement, elevating young voices, and creating meaningful opportunities for voters to engage with candidates ahead of this pivotal election.
