Thinking big: Libertyville-based Bath Concepts refreshes identity, plans expansion
A Libertyville-based company that began as a small operation in one man’s garage and has evolved to a leading manufacturer of bathroom remodeling products is celebrating 25 years with a refreshed identity and a big expansion.
Formerly known as BCI Acrylic, the company, now known as Bath Concepts, operates from three buildings in an industrial area on the northwest corner of Peterson Road and Route 45.
According to the company, the refreshed identity reflects its evolution to a leader in affordable, high-quality, customizable bath and shower options. Bath Concepts fabricates tubs, showers, shower liners, surrounds, walk-in tubs and other products for residential and commercial use under the Bath Planet and Luxury Bath brands.
Business has tripled over the last five years, and the company supports a network of more than 1,200 dealers nationwide. Bath Concepts is self-described as the largest bath and shower manufacturer and service network in North America, as well as having business in Europe.
In 2026, Bath Concepts plans to build a 600,000-square-foot facility, doubling the size of its current operations, which is considered instrumental in continued growth and job creation. A specific site has not been announced, but it is said to be close to current facilities.
Manufacturing bath and shower remodeling systems and accessories will be the primary use, but warehouse, distribution and office space will be included, according to the company.
The new facility is planned as the company’s global headquarters and will consolidate all office and manufacturing staff in one location.
Scott Rosenbach, company president and owner, was an installer with a local bath remodeling company who launched his own retail business in 1995.
Dissatisfied with material quality, Rosenbach in 1999 started manufacturing his own materials out of a garage, and other dealers began buying his products.
The company grew rapidly, and in 2001, Rosenbach sold the retail operation to concentrate on manufacturing for the acyclic bath remodeling industry, according to the BCI Acrylic site.
Over the last 20 years, the company has expanded to include replacement tubs, showers, walk-in bathtubs, wall systems, and bases and accessories. Products include the Liquid Accents shower door collection, laser-etched designs and PuroStone solid surface technology.
“For 25 years, we’ve built a company defined by hard work, integrity and a passion for improving how people experience their homes,” Rosenbach said in a press release.
“At Bath Concepts, we’re proud to carry our legacy forward while continuing to innovate new products and services that anticipate our customers’ needs and elevate the remodeling experience,” he added.
The rebrand to Bath Concepts marks a significant moment in the company’s history, uniting its network under one modern, customer-focused identity. Dealers across North America are recognized as Bath Concepts Authorized Dealers.
