Taxing tips in Illinois hurts working people
So our billionaire president campaigned on a promise that tips and overtime would be tax free, with some limitations. The Big Beautiful Bill acted on that promise. Nice move by a billionaire to assist working-class folk who could definitely use the tax relief and a larger refund.
Unfortunately, the billionaire governor of the state of Illinois didn’t think this group of hardworking citizens deserved this tax break and will force Illinois citizens to add the tips and overtime back to their Illinois taxable income. The governor apparently thinks the corrupt state needs the funds more than the workers.
Have you read about this anywhere? Why isn’t there any coverage of this egregious act? Why does Pritzker get to slide on this? About time for some accountability.
