Huntley church to offer new member gathering
Learn more about the life and ministry of Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church in Huntley. A new member gathering will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at the church, 10805 Main St. in Huntley.
Prospective members, guests and visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the life and the church ministry. The church is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) community of faith that shares a passion for making positive changes in the world.
“If you have attended worship with us or joined us online and would like to know more about our community, we welcome you to attend our new member gathering to consider becoming a formal member of our SOTP family,” said Donna Kelly, director of connections ministry.
Worship is led by Senior Pastor Mark Boster and Pastor Ryan Mackey. It is filled with meaningful small groups and a strong commitment of service to others.
On Saturdays, there is a Communion service using familiar hymns at 5 p.m.; and on Sundays, a traditional service with Communion using familiar hymns at 9 a.m. and contemporary Communion service using contemporary music, language and multimedia at 10:45 a.m. Both Sundays services are livestreamed.
