Paying for health care
Today a long letter to the editor attacked health care for all as not being a right. Paid for by the taxpayers was an issue. There is a significant difference between a right and something that is for the common good for the country. These are also paid for by the taxpayer.
The list is long, but I'll name a few that would fall under the letter writers’ not a right.
Roads in front of his house. Police departments. Fire departments. U.S. military. Public schools. Etc.
Directly, or indirectly, taxpayers pay for people who don't have health care coverage. Directly through taxes and indirectly by paying higher costs for health care.
Even the rich pay these higher costs.
Imagine if today we didn't have health care companies making huge profits and those same companies being able to decide what care you can, and cannot get.
