Tick-borne diseases and preventive measures topic of virtual presentation

Tick-borne diseases and preventive measures will be the topic of the January virtual meeting of Wild Ones Lake to Prairie Chapter from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6.

The event is presented in partnership with the University of Illinois Lake County Extension.

Chris Evans, an extension forestry and research specialist with the University of Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, will discuss tick species commonly found in Illinois and tick-borne disease. He will also talk about the life cycle of ticks, tick habitat preferences and measures to reduce the risk of tick bites.
