State Sen. Hills delivers donated goods to food pantries

After staging a collection drive, Republican state Sen. Darby Hills of Barrington Hills and her staff last week delivered food, toiletries and other items to eight food pantries in her 26th District.

More than 2,000 items were collected in the Moms & Meals drive, according to a news release from Hills’ office. Boxed up for delivery, it was enough for five carloads.

The donations went to pantries at the Hope Collective in Lake Zurich, the Wauconda and Island Lake Food Pantry, Palatine Township, the St. Vincent de Paul Ministry Center in Lake Zurich, Barrington Township, Fremont Township, Cuba Township, and the Ela Area Public Library in Lake Zurich.

“Every contribution made a difference and helped brighten the holidays for families in need,” Hills said in the release.
