Festive fitness: Huntley’s Running of the Elves 5K a success

Another successful Running of the Elves took place in Huntley on Dec. 6, as part of the annual Very Merry Huntley celebration.

Sponsored by Huntley Rotary, the event started and ended at Huntley Square, with participants following scenic village paths and streets.

Congratulations to the overall winners: Tyler Linta of Elgin, who finished with a time of 19:17, and Erica Helzer of Huntley, who completed the course in 29:02.

In the 12 and under category, Osman Uran of Huntley (age 11) finished in 23:52.5, and Sadie Baker of Dundee (age 11) finished in 32:21.7.
