Giving in the W: Woodland Intermediate students donate to Lurie Children's Hospital
Students at Woodland Intermediate School had the opportunity to give back in a meaningful way. Instead of using the ROAR cash they earned for showing ROAR behaviors to buy little toys and rewards for themselves, they purchased items from the ROARazon store to donate to patients at Lurie Children's Hospital. The giving campaign was a huge success and the students donated nearly 500 items to children currently in the hospital.
Fourth- and fifth-grade PBIS Student Leaders skipped recess to help pack the boxes, assemble activity booklets, and make cheerful cards to brighten a stranger's day.
The school thanks School Resource Officer Det. Kelly Hansen, P.E. teacher and PBIS Leader Heather Weidemann and Family Coordinator Gabriela Navarro Diaz for creating such a meaningful experience for the students.
