Fremont District 79 students shop for families in need

Students from the grades 1-2 and 3-4 multiage classrooms at Fremont Elementary and Intermediate Schools participated in their annual tradition of shopping for local families in need at Target in Mundelein on Dec. 12.

The students raised money for the shopping trip and purchased food and household items for donation to the Fremont Township Food Pantry. The students honed their math skills, learned about shopping within a budget and giving back to their community. In all, $3,000 worth of items were donated to the food pantry.
