Bill on Tier 2 misses the point

This is in response to Chuck Sullivan of the AFFI and his tale of woe about why he needs SB1937 passed. I guess he hasn't heard the news about the dire straits the state of Illinois is in because of our public pension debts. Which is also one of the stated reasons many people have been leaving the state, thus making the money-pot smaller and smaller.

When the politicians finally realized they had to do something about these massive pension debts and actually succeed in doing so, along comes people like Mr. Sullivan who wants to rescind the good they've tried to do, with his standard litany of all the calamities that will befall us unless this bill gets passed. The same old saw the public unions put out every time they know they're asking for something over and above what the pocketbook of the state can afford to give. Next thing you know they'll be charging us a fee to breathe, so you can enjoy a bigger pension.

I'm sure Mr. Sullivan will not like to read this response, but he has to realize there are only so many taxes and fees we can absorb before the house falls down around us. Please don't pass SB1937.
