No injuries in Palatine house fire
No injuries were reported after a house fire in Palatine Monday evening.
Palatine fire officials said a resident of the home on the 200 block of North Oak Street called 911 at 6:17 p.m. when he noticed smoke coming from the basement. He then made sure everyone, including two dogs, exited the home.
Crews extended a hose line through front door and found fire in the basement. Additional crews used thermal imaging cameras.
By the time the fire was declared under control at 6:57 p.m., the fire had extended up through the walls and into the attic/roof of the home.
Palatine Fire Department Investigators are currently investigating and believe the fire was accidental.
