Libertyville VFW Post 8741 honors local businesses for supporting veterans

VFW Post 8741 recently recognized several businesses across the Gurnee, Mundelein, Libertyville, and Vernon Hills area for their continued support of veterans and their families. The acknowledgments highlight local establishments that have demonstrated consistent appreciation for military service, particularly through Veterans Day initiatives and year-round gestures of gratitude.

Post members visited participating businesses throughout the GMLV community to personally deliver certificates of appreciation. According to post leadership, these recognitions reflect a shared commitment between local businesses and veterans to honor service and strengthen community ties.

“Acts of appreciation from our community truly matter,” a post spokesperson said. “When businesses step up and honor those who served, it reinforces the bond of patriotism between the military and civilian community.”

The businesses honored this year include several well-known restaurants and service establishments in the Lake County GMLV region. Many have earned a reputation for making veterans feel welcome not only on designated holidays, but throughout the year.

Post 8741 officials emphasized that such partnerships reflect the best of community spirit and serve as a reminder that support for veterans remains a shared civic responsibility. By recognizing these businesses, the post hopes to encourage continued goodwill, mutual respect, and lasting connections between veterans and the communities they call home.
