Elias Kent Kane Chapter DAR presents DAR Community Service Awards

The Elias Kent Kane Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution recently presented DAR Community Service Awards to Zoeie Kreiner and Marty Callahan in recognition of their outstanding volunteer service and dedication to their communities.

The mission of DAR is historic preservation, education, and patriotism, and both honorees exemplify these pillars through their leadership and commitment.

Zoeie Kreiner is the CEO and founder of Support Over Stigma, a nonprofit organization based in St. Charles, dedicated to “Save Lives — One Hero at a Time.”

According to their website, “Since its founding in 2020, Support Over Stigma has reached more than 25,000 veterans, military members, and first responders through life‑saving outreach, trauma‑informed education, and direct support. The organization empowers those who serve to rediscover hope — and to choose life.”

Marty Callahan serves as a board member of the Fox Valley Patriotic Organization, and is a member of the North American Vexillological Association. He played a key role in documenting the historical content of the Flag Day Monument in Batavia and, as chairman of the Batavia Chamber of Commerce’s Community Flag Committee, led the effort that resulted in the creation of Batavia’s community flag in 2023.

Callahan also serves as president of the Sons of the American Revolution, Fox Valley Chapter, continuing his dedication to honoring America’s heritage.

“These honorees embody the very spirit of DAR service,” said Christine Harmon, Regent of the Elias Kent Kane Chapter. “Their service strengthens our communities and ensures that the values of patriotism, education, and preservation remain alive for future generations.”

The DAR Community Service Award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to volunteer service, making a lasting impact on their communities.
