Firefighters were able to extricate and rescue the person within 10 minutes. The patient was treated at the scene and transported to a hospital with minor injuries and signs of hypothermia from exposure to the cold water.

The initial investigation indicates that ice on the driveway contributed to the vehicle leaving the road. The incident is still under investigation by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
