29 household paint recycling locations now open to DuPage County residents

DuPage County residents can drop off unwanted or unusable paint for free at 29 locations throughout the county, thanks to a new program.

The state of Illinois has partnered with the nonprofit PaintCare to administer the service, which is funded by a state fee on new paint sales through Illinois’ Paint Stewardship program, launched Dec. 1.

Residents can drop off up to 5 gallons per visit. A list of acceptable items and drop-off locations can be found at dupagecounty.gov/recycling.
