Bartlett’s Living Lord Lutheran Church to put on 35th annual Christmas pageant

Living Lord Lutheran Church in Bartlett will present its 35th annual Christmas pageant on Sunday, Dec. 14. The production’s intergenerational cast will perform “Arrest These Merry Gentlemen!” followed by a festive reception.

The church invites the entire community to attend this entertaining presentation designed to grow the Christmas spirit. It will begin at 3 p.m. at the church, 1044 Congress Drive.

This year’s pageant tells the story of the birth of Jesus through a unique perspective. The pageant presents a light-hearted musical caper featuring Bethlehem Peace Officer Joe Sabbath investigating an alleged gang of joyfully rowdy shepherds disturbing the peace with a crazy story about angels and a mysterious baby.

The intergenerational chorus, featuring first-graders to high school as well as adults, has been rehearsing since October. Preschool- and kindergarten-aged children will perform a special song to open the pageant and then will take part in the Nativity scene. The presentation will include actors and singers of all ages, along with a full band to accompany the music.

“There’s no better way to get into the spirit of this magical season than attending our Christmas pageant,” said Steve Ricci, co-director of the pageant along with his spouse, Mary Ellen Ricci. “As we prepare for this year’s pageant, we are thrilled to build on the momentum of the past 35 years. It will be a special celebration of one of our most beloved traditions at Living Lord.”
