‘Cyber Santa’ gifts kids at Saint Alexius Women & Children’s Hospital in Hoffman Estates

A “Cyber Santa” event Wednesday brightened the holidays for 16 kids finding themselves under the care of Ascension Saint Alexius Women and Children’s Hospital in Hoffman Estates this season.

The day began with the kids video chatting with Mrs. Claus regarding what they would want for Christmas this year.

Hospital staff assisted the effort by then seeking out those requests at the Meijer store in Bloomingdale.

But it was Santa and Mrs. Claus themselves who handled the same-day delivery, much to the children’s delight. Hospital staff were dressed as nutcrackers for the event.

This was the 11th year Saint Alexius conducted a “Cyber Santa” for its youngest patients.
