‘Sanctuary policy’ misstated

The reader's Dec. 4 comment blaming “sanctuary city” policies for the mass detentions of people of color who are not the “worst of the worst” is not true. Sanctuary cities do not prohibit sharing criminal records with ICE. They just won't assist in “rounding up” immigrants. So, it's not necessary after that to “sort it out later.” Please keep us from misinformation.
