Palatine man accused of pointing gun during altercation

A Palatine man is accused of pointing a gun at a person during an altercation in October, authorities said.

Hilario Sanchez, 30, of the 1300 block of Baldwin Court, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from the Oct. 24 confrontation, Palatine police said.

Sanchez was arrested Thursday by the Elgin Police Department, following an investigation and issuance of an arrest warrant.

According to Palatine police, officers responded to the 300 block of South Rohlwing Road at about 1 p.m. Oct. 24 in response to a report that a man showed a gun and threatened another person.

The man, who police said was identified as Sanchez and knew the victim, fled the scene before officers arrived.

After his arrest last week, Sanchez was granted pretrial release and is due in court on Jan. 8.
