Itasca introduces ‘Plates & Perks’ winter dining program

The village of Itasca is giving diners across the region a reason to make the trip this winter. The village has launched “Plates & Perks,” a new winter dining program that brings 14 local restaurants together through a series of seasonal discounts.

The program gives visitors a chance to enjoy different meals throughout town and see what Itasca’s dining scene offers during the colder months.

Mayor Jeff Pruyn said the idea grew from the village’s appreciation for the connection between dining and community. “Every community shows a piece of its identity through its food,” Pruyn said. “Plates & Perks gives visitors a chance to discover that identity in Itasca, one meal at a time.”

“Plates & Perks” runs through March 31. Participants can pick up a complimentary booklet at village hall at 550 W. Irving Park Road, the Itasca Community Library at 500 W. Irving Park Road, the Itasca Park District at 350 E. Irving Park Road, or any participating restaurant.

Each listed discount earns a stamp in the booklet when used. Once all stamps have been collected, the completed booklet may be returned to village hall for entry into a spring drawing for local restaurant gift cards.
