Lombard rings in the holidays with Jingle Bell Jubilee

On Saturday, Dec. 6, enjoy the sights and sounds of the holidays with the Lombard Jingle Bell Jubilee, featuring events hosted by local community organizations. Events include a Victorian Christmas at the Lombard Historical Society, a Cookie Walk at Calvary Church, caroling, tree lighting, and concerts at various locations. A complimentary trolley will be running from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The events are hosted by the Lombard Park District, village of Lombard, Lombard Chamber of Commerce, Calvary Church, Lombard Bible Church, Lombard Historical Society, Helen Plum Library, First United Methodist, First Church of Lombard, United Church of Christ, Brust Funeral Home, MOTW Coffee, Soapy Roads, and Maple Street Chapel.

The Lombard Fire Department will be on-site in the Lombard Park District’s administrative office at 227 W. Parkside Ave., collecting toys for their annual toy drive. This drive is supporting Teen Parent Connection and Toy Express. While you’re there, sample delicious goodies from Rainbow Cone of Lombard.

• Helen Plum Library, 411 S. Main St., from 2 to 6 p.m.

Get in the Jubilee spirit at Helen Plum Library! Enjoy a wintery photo booth and Holiday Lights glasses (while supplies last). Join us in Youth Services from 2 to 4:30 p.m. for a scavenger hunt, craft, and your favorite snowy princesses. Eastwind Vocal Ensemble from Glenbard East will delight you with music at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

• Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., from 2 to 7 p.m.

Join the Brust family and staff for a heartwarming Holiday Open House. Step into the festive spirit with a cup of hot cider and delightful Grandma Brust cookies while little ones can enjoy crafting letters to Santa and view the model train set.

• Lombard Historical Society at 23 W. Maple St. from 4 to 8:30 p.m.

Explore Gingerbread Way, a holiday market featuring glow items, candles, warm drinks, cotton candy, and more. Check out the Gingerbread House Contest entries and vote for your favorite. Enjoy face painting and kids’ crafts at the Carriage House. Take a tour of the Victorian Cottage, where costumed interpreters share the joys of Christmas past. Free tickets are available at 4 p.m. at the Carriage House, with tours starting at 5:45 p.m. Don’t miss the Canterbury Carolers caroling on the porch.

• Calvary Church, 105 W. Maple St., from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Join Calvary Church for their annual Cookie Walk. Choose your own assortment of homemade holiday cookies and pay by the half-pound.

• Lombard Area Chamber of Commerce and The Schiller Team/Downtown from 4 to 8 p.m.

Take a stroll down the Candy Cane Lane Holiday Market on South Park Avenue and enjoy food, shopping, carolers, Nutcracker dancers, and more! Get into the holiday spirit before and after checking out the lights at 5:30 p.m. at Lilacia Park. Upstart Performing Arts are returning for their second year of caroling at the Jingle Bell Jubilee from 4 to 5 p.m.

• First Church of Lombard United Church of Christ, 220 S. Main St., from 5 to 7 p.m.

Join First Church of Lombard for hot cider, cookie decorating, and a craft.

• First United Methodist Church, 155 S. Main St., from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Sing Christmas carols with us on your way to Lilacia Park! Join us as we sing and enjoy the time together.

• Maple Street Chapel, 220 S. Main St., from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Enjoy Josiah Reade Ringers, First Church’s handbell choir from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Maple Street Chapel welcomes back Kilty Pleasure for the annual sing-along.

• Lombard Park District/Village of Lombard from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Tree lighting and Santa’s arrival in Lilacia Park, 150 S. Park Ave. Enjoy photo opportunities with characters, hot cocoa, and cookies.

• Lombard Bible Church, 111 S. Park Ave., from 6 to 7 p.m.

Enjoy Glenbard East Honors Orchestra Concerts at 6 and 6:30 p.m., as well as hot cocoa and crafts in the gym from 6 to 7 p.m.

• MOTW Coffee and Pastries, 109 S. Main St., from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Warm up with MOTW’s signature hot drinks and take part in their Kindness Cards — where kids and grown-ups can write a thoughtful note for a family member, teacher, or neighbor. A simple way to spread warmth, kindness, and community spirit this winter.

• Soapy Roads, 10 W. St. Charles Road, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Makery Bar will have a live artist painting portraits onto keepsake ornaments. Pop in for a glass of wine or a unique assortment of craft non-alcoholic cocktails.
