Just Smile launches winter coat drive to help families in need
Just Smile, a local nonprofit ministry dedicated to spreading kindness and inclusion, is launching a community coat drive to support families in need this winter. The organization is collecting new and gently used coats of all sizes to help children, teens, and adults stay warm as temperatures drop.
From Dec. 1-20, you can drop off donations at Eternal Tan, 344 S. Randall Road in South Elgin; Smile for Life Dental, 2001 Larkin Ave., Suite 120 in Elgin; Iron Lab Gym, 24 Tyler Creek Plaza in Elgin or 2350 Sycamore Road in DeKalb; Competitors Edge, 103 N. 11th Ave., Suite 5B in St. Charles; and Amazing Lash in Geneva Commons, 1440 Commons Drive.
Community members are encouraged to donate winter jackets that are clean, in good condition or new. All collected jackets will be delivered to Vineyard Church in Elgin.
Just Smile, founded by Jeremy Hildebrandt, focuses on uplifting individuals through acts of kindness, events, school partnerships, and community support initiatives.
The ministry also works closely with people who have disabilities, promoting inclusion and friendship through activities and outreach. This coat drive is one of the many ways Just Smile aims to “Change the world one smile at a time.”
