Wag your winter tail for a great cause at Pawction

Celebrate the season while helping pets in need at West Suburban Humane Society’s Pawction: Winter Wonderland 2025.

Set for 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, Pawction takes place at West Suburban Humane Society, 1901 Ogden Ave., Downers Grove. Guests 21 and older are invited to enjoy bites and beverages while meeting adoptable animals and taking part in raffles and games. Beautifully themed decorations throughout the event will add a festive touch.

Pawction: Winter Wonderland 2025, will raise funds for the West Suburban Humane Society from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6.

“This annual fundraiser is a great way to kick off the holiday season while supporting dogs and cats in need,” said Zoe McGrath, Director of Development for West Suburban Humane Society. “The silent auction is online and opens on Dec. 3, closing on Dec. 6 at 8:30 p.m. Bidders do not need to be there in person to participate in the bidding, but attendees have the opportunity to see the exciting auction items in person.”

Highlights of the fundraiser include a Mash-tini Bar featuring mashed potatoes served martini-style with gourmet toppings, savory add-ins and all the fixings. A Hot Cocoa Bar will also be available for guests to indulge.

Other fun activities include a mitten game and white elephant game, along with the opportunity to take winter-themed photos in front of a lovely backdrop.

“The main goal of the event is to raise needed funds to support WSHS rescue animals,” McGrath said. “Every dollar raised makes a difference for homeless cats and dogs. From medical cases to orphaned kittens and senior dogs to abandoned puppies, there are so many animals in need of help. This event supports our mission and helps to make our lifesaving work possible for vulnerable pets in our community.”

Helping to make Pawction possible is the Gerald Subaru of Naperville.

“Gerald Subaru of Naperville is an amazing supporter of the work we do at the West Suburban Humane Society,” McGrath said. “Their partnership makes a big impact on Pawction and the mission of WSHS. It means a lot to have the support of such a community-driven organization. We are thankful to the Gerald Subaru of Naperville team for their compassion and dedication to helping animals in need.”

Gerald is excited to kick off winter by helping animals through the Pawction fundraiser.
