Police: Domestic dispute leads to shooting at Gurnee hotel

A Wisconsin woman has been charged following a Nov. 27 shooting outside of a Gurnee hotel in what police determined was a domestic dispute.

Angela M. Mack, 40, of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, was charged with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and reckless discharge of a firearm, all felonies, according to the Gurnee Police Department. One man was injured.

Gurnee police determined that the argument began in a neighboring town before the couple drove to a hotel near Grand Avenue and the I-94 Tollway where the shooting occurred.

Alerted Friday to a possible shooting in the hotel’s driveway, through surveillance footage investigators saw a van pull up to the hotel entrance around 9:44 p.m. Thursday, officials said.

A man exited the passenger side of the vehicle followed by a woman holding a gun. The video showed the woman firing multiple rounds, hitting the man once in the leg. The pair returned to the van, and drove off.

While investigating, officers learned a gunshot victim had arrived at a nearby hospital. Police went to the hospital, where they found the couple. The woman was taken to the Gurnee Police Department, where she confessed to her role in the incident, officials said.
