Aurora opens temporary warming shelter

The city of Aurora will provide overnight shelter with the arrival of a cold stretch.

Beginning Wednesday night, the city will open its temporary overnight warming center at the Financial Empowerment Center, at 712 S. River St. The entrance is through the main door, and visitors will be buzzed in through the security door.

The center will be available from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, to Thursday, Nov. 27; Thursday, Nov. 27, to Friday, Nov. 28; Friday, Nov. 28, to Saturday, Nov. 29; and Saturday, Nov. 29, to Sunday, Nov. 30.
