Wheeling parks board to decide construction contract for aquatic center
The Wheeling Park District board will meet Tuesday to consider hiring a company to manage the early steps of a proposed renovation of the Family Aquatic Center, 105 Community Blvd.
Camosy Construction is up for the job. It oversaw the multimillion-dollar expansion and renovation of the park district's Community Recreation Center in 2021.
The contract up for review Tuesday would cover certain pre-construction services related to the aquatic center project, officials said. The meeting is set for 5 p.m. at the recreation center, 100 Community Blvd.
Open since 1993, the Family Aquatic Center features tube and body slides, a zero-depth pool, a picnic area, locker rooms, a concession stand and many more amenities. Parks officials have said the center has reached the end of its reasonable life expectancy.
