Grateful for insurance
Twenty-one years ago, I had congestive heart failure. Eleven years ago, I had non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I have now just started chemo for B-cell lymphoma. I am not looking for sympathy, but I would like to say that when I saw my nurse practitioner, she informed me that my regimen costs $50,000 per treatment.
She then said that I can thank the Affordable Care Act for Medicare picking up most if not all of my treatment costs. She also said that without the ACA, me having preexisting conditions, I would not have any insurance.
Thank God for the ACA.
