Palatine police make two separate meth arrests

Two separate arrests, one during a traffic stop and another during a welfare check, led Palatine police officers to recover significant amounts of methamphetamine.

The first arrest was made around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, when an officer in the area of East Dundee Road and North Frontage Road saw a white Nissan sedan on East Dundee Road fail to stop for a red light.

The officer stopped the vehicle, which was driven by 30-year-old Jonathan Cruz Arreola, of the 1500 block of North Crimson Lane, Palatine. Police said they recovered 17 grams of methamphetamine during a search.

He is charged with possession and manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and disregarding a traffic control device.

The second arrest was made around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. An officer on patrol in the 1100 block of East Nichols Road found a woman who appeared to be unconscious or asleep inside a running dark-colored Honda minivan.

The officer conducted a welfare check and spoke with the vehicle’s sole occupant, 38-year-old Alissa J. Goudie of Salem, Wisconsin. During the conversation, officers saw drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle, and a search resulted in the discovery of approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine, police said.

Goudie was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver, both felonies, as well as misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Cruz Arreola and Goudie were charged and released. They are scheduled to appear in court Monday in Rolling Meadows.
