No injuries reported after car fire on I-88 Monday near Aurora

There were no injuries reported after a car fire on Interstate 88 Monday near Aurora.

The fire was reported around 3:45 p.m. on I-88 near mile marker 121, according to Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Philip Ayala. The vehicle was transporting something that caught fire, prompting the emergency response.

The Naperville Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. One of the ramps to the expressway was shut down for about 15 minutes while the fire was extinguished.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
