Naperville’s Good Shepherd hosts 16th annual Encounter Christmas

A night of worship, reflection, and joy this holiday season

In the midst of a busy holiday season, Encounter Christmas XVI: Magnificat offers a sacred space for the Naperville community to pause, reflect, and celebrate.

The annual Christmas concert will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 11-12, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1310 Shepherd Drive, Naperville. Admission is free, but seating is limited. Reservations can be made at gshepchurch.org/encounter.

Now in its 16th year, Encounter Christmas has become a cherished tradition in the community — an evening filled with music, worship, and storytelling that centers hearts on the hope of Jesus.

This year’s theme, “Magnificat,” draws inspiration from Mary’s song of praise in Luke 1, reminding us that all we have been given flows from the most precious gift of all: Jesus Christ.

The evening will feature worship, classic Christmas carols, and an inspiring message from Pastor Tara Beth Leach, senior pastor at Good Shepherd.

Through word and song, Encounter Christmas XVI: Magnificat invites all who attend to find rest, joy, and meaning in the true story of Christmas.

“Each year, Encounter Christmas gives our community a moment to breathe,” said Pastor Tara Beth Leach. “In a season that can be overwhelming, we want this night to draw people back to the wonder of God’s presence and the beauty of His gift to us.”

The event is free to attend, but advance reservations are strongly encouraged as seats fill quickly each year. Visit gshepchurch.org/encounter to reserve your spot.
